Flames fans...on a serious note. Why isn't your team finishing better than this. They seem to be a better team than their record shows. What is wrong there?

-Team is mentally weak.
-Coach is mentally weak.
-The veterans are collecting pay cheques vs. playing to win the cup.
-Powerplay is horrible and known as Brouwerplay, because Brouwer is always out there even though he's brutal.
-Gulutzen is busy watching highlights during the game vs. coaching and making game changing decisions.

Even if the Flames made the playoffs it would be an easy sweep for the other team. No fight, no drive, same predictable system.

You guys are awful chipper for a fan base of a team franchise that's a complete dumpster fire and are gonna lose their franchise player for nothing.

yes well we don't live in Calgary which is a start. and we literally have almost all your picks. Also one of the best offenses and one of the best young stars in the league.

its also funny how a ny team who is the most irrelevant team in the area, is in less danger of moving cities (with new arena deal) than the calgary flames. Thats almost unfathomable

If they managed to get a 1st rounder with Brodie you're basically looking at a Brodie for Hamonic swap (assuming all other parts, draft position, etc. are relatively comparable). Which would be completely fine. I am not sure this is possible, but at this point Hamonic >>> Brodie anyway.

If they traded away brodie and brought in fat rass I really don't think it would jeopardize the "win now" mentality. That being said, I've always looked at Smith as a bridge, rather than a "win now" move. I think the same could be said for Hamonic. To me it's about bringing guys in to keep this team in a decent position while the rest of the players develop.

your owner cannot afford to build an arena without public funds. The public does not want to give them hundreds of millions of dollars. Seems like a real issue

Maybe we'll just sign Tavares as a consolation prize. I personally, could live with that.
